Little Green Lake and Fox Lake on Saturday May 17th will be the lakes to fish for the 1st Outing of 2025 for the WMC. Outing fishing will be allowed the entire weekend, May 16-18 (register as soon as you catch your musky) with May 17th being the Club get together day.
On October 10th, 2024 in partnership with the Fox Lake Preservation Organization (FLPO) and the Wisconsin DNR, the Winnebagoland Musky Club stocked (193) 13” large musky fingerlings.
The FLPO also released on the same day, 1,539 7” Walleyes, 3,077 5” Black Crappies, and 2,500 Yellow Perch.
The FLPO organized this stocking project along with the Wisconsin DNR and SAGES Agricultural and Environmental Charter Elementary School in Fox Lake. SAGES school planned a field trip for their students with this stocking project. The WI DNR’s involvement offered the children scientific knowledge regarding fish stocking and some hands-on experiences getting the fish into the lake. Nice Job! Our Club participated with several of our members releasing the muskies from their boats around the lake.
2025:
The Fox Lake Preservation Organization (FLPO) and the Winnebagoland Musky Club are planning on stocking about 200 muskies in Fox Lake. This will be our third year of stocking 200 fingerlings (10-11”). The actual event when the fish will be delivered will be sometime this October 2025. We will need 3 boats with 2 or 3 large coolers, a proper size scooping net (trout net size) to transfer fish, and at least 2 people per boat. Someone for photo ops is always appreciated. This is a great project and partnership with the FLPO, a good conservation group.
Our next Winnebagoland Musky Club meeting is May 7th, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the Fond du Lac American Legion. It is Election Time.
Our last Winnebagoland Musky Club meeting was February 5th, 2025.
Our guest speaker was Austin Wiggerman who owns AW Guide Service. His presentation was very interesting and informative. Austin also donated a ½ day guide trip which was raffled off at the Club’s award banquet. Austin is a full-time musky guide in WI, Illinois and Minnesota. You can check him out on his website austinwiggermanguideservice.godaddysites.com and 815-575-3468

September 2024
From September 6th through September 8th, members of the Winnebagoland Musky Club, along with Salute the Troops, The Navy Club - Ship 75, Scottie’s Bait and Tackle of Three Lakes, WI, The Triangle Motel of Three Lakes, Natural Stone Veneers, the Marine Corps League - Det 552 and the Sunset Grill of Three Lakes hosted a Veterans’ Appreciation event. The event hosted 12 veterans for a weekend of musky fishing. Our club provided experienced fishermen and their boats to guide the veterans guests on the water.
The 11th Annual Operation Winnebagoland Muskies was held in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. This outing is held as a partnership with Salute the Troops, a local veteran’s support organization. The veteran musky outing included 13 veterans and 7 Winnebagoland Musky Club members as guides. Thanks to Scottie’s Bait and Tackle for a great meal on Friday night and Sunset Grill for a delicious breakfast. Thanks to all the veterans, guides and staff for supporting this outing. It was an awesome weekend with all wishing it didn’t have to end. Good food and a great time were had by all. Both veterans and WMC members shared heartfelt stories around the campfire of military experiences and military support. These stories were not limited to the campfire, while on the boats for many hours, the guides were able to learn and begin to appreciate the sacrifices made by these military veterans. The weather was a bit chilly but warmed up each day. Fishing was ok with multiple muskies spotted and two nice muskies, 44.25” and a 35” caught along with four Northern pike. Thanks again to the veterans for attending and for their service. We are already planning for next year’s event.

July 26-28, 2024
12 members attended the July outing in Vilas and Oneida Counties. Weather was good, weeds were high in the water column, and the fish bite was too low. A few follows but no muskies were caught - therefore - No “First Musky of the Outing” award this time.
